Day 5: Miami

It's on the 1st of September, and our 5th day since we've started traveling, although our flight to Washington is on the next day at 8.45am, but we had decided to check out of our hotel today (which will eventually come up to USD 228 or USD 57 per person) and spend our night at the airport to save money. Again, by the time when we were done with packing our stuff and checking out, it was already 12 noon, and our stomachs led us to a Subway to have a $5 footlong sub as our lunch. After our lunch, we took our car and drove to a tattoo shop (Love Hate Tattoos) made famous by the show 'Miami Ink' (which I never heard of, but Damien and Dickson kept making a big fuss out of it :))

After we were done with the tattoo shop, we then took a drive up to north beach of Miami beach. To our disappointment, the whole of North beach were private beaches (and also where all the high class hotels were situated) and couldn't find a way to enter the beaches

It was around 2.30pm when we headed down to the downtown of Miami again, which we were suppose to drop Damien by the Greyhound station so that he could meet up with Anna.

This is how a fire station in Downtown Miami looks like

We were having much troubles finding the Greyhound station in Miami and after asking for directions for a few times, Damien was told that Anne had arrived at the Greyhound station near Miami International Airport instead. After picking Anne up from the station, we headed back to the Bayfront Park which we decided to spend the rest of our day at. Once we were there, Damien and Anne had gone their separate ways while we went on our own. There weren't much that we could see at the park again and so we decided to walk the area around the park instead. Below are a few pictures which I took while we were roaming around area of Bayfront Park.

I'm standing on a railway track! while taking this picture :p

The Miami Herald press (the local newspaper)

After we've covered quite some distance, we've decided that we take a rest in the lobby of a Marriot hotel, and guess what, all of us fell asleep in the comfort of the chair. After an hour of sleep, we headed back towards the Bayfront Park to have our dinner.

I have no idea what building was this but it looked pretty impressively lighted up

The American Airlines Arena (home of the Miami Heat basketball team) lighted up beautifully

When we were back at the Bayfront park, Dickson suggested that we have a meal at the Hooters Restaurant (it's a restaurant famous for their hot waitresses :p).

The Bayfront Park at night

I had a classic American Burger of beef patty, cheese, onion rings, bacons and BBQ sauce (so damn unhealthy but delicious :p), and also the 3 of us shared a plate of 20 chicken wings.

The Hooters Restaurant (see the waitresses :) )

The burger that I had (which was pretty gigantic in size and delicious too)

My meal plus my share of chicken wings cost me around USD 16 (was pretty worth it considering the erhmmm.. and the time we spent there using their free internet). The restaurant closes at 12 and that was the only reason that we had to leave the restaurant. Then, we waited for Damien at the hotel where he and Anne were at and after a short wait (which I spent my time using the internet again), the four of us then headed for the Miami International airport which we will spend our last night in Florida at.
